String Theory Class Launch: Rope Ladder and Knot Tying Class Series June and July

Song of the Week

Listen to this song as you read to help open you up. This is a really pretty song. We’re staying at Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park right now and I’m sitting on a stiff couch listening to it on repeat.

Updates! Knot Classes

I’m so excited about this! Register here or if you’re on your phone, tap and hold the QR code. There is more detailed information in the registration as well. I’m really excited to finally be teaching these knot classes in Minneapolis and Bemidji! These classes will culminate in making a rope ladder. These classes are subsidized by a grant I received from the Minnesota State Arts Board. There are a few scholarships available, so let me know if you can’t afford these, but want to attend. I’ll share more about this project next week, but wanted to get it on your radar. Light snacks and drinks will be provided for all the classes. Here is the link to the slides for you to share with your beloveds or on your socials if you want to plug.

I’m in Hawaii this week visiting family in Honolulu. I wanted to share the above music from Ledward Kaapana. He’s one of my uncle’s favorite musicians, I’ll see him in concert this week, looking forward to it.

It took me so long to make these flyers. Please share them with beloveds who might want to get nerdy about knots with me. Knots are truly a life skill we all need and I find making them incredibly therapeutic.

Eiko Mizushima is a fiscal year 2026 recipient of a Creative Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
