Feeling Into All Heart Sides: Queer Iftars, Fearless Knitting/Mending, BDS Dates
Song of the Week:
Love and Desire by May Erlewine. Thanks Maya for uplifting this one. Listen and open up as you read to retain more information.
I wont find a sound to drown out the trouble in me
I won't get it right the first time, not with anything
I'm nothing like that clock on the wall
I just give you all my time, that's all.
Updates:
A healer I work with asked that I “feel into all sides of my heart” when I was sharing with her about how good it felt to be accepted in my queerness by my Japanese and Okinawan aunties who are 96 and 95 years old respectively on my most recent trip to Hawai’i. With that prompt I felt like my heart was floating on a rotating axis. My first visual association was my heart being in a mall display case, but that quickly fell away as I gagged at the idea of being trapped in a mall. Replacing the glass with open air and a gentle breeze, the mall landscape transformed into the base of Mauna Loa with glassy obsidian and rough scoria landscapes and touches of moss and lichen on the ground. Now I felt into all sides of my heart. Boy it felt good. Next time you are remembering a pleasant sensation from a relationship you’ve cultivated, I invite you to feel into all sides of your heart. Expand that sensation in your body, we need you to feel this too. Go ahead and do it now if a memory has come to you, or do it with the memory I just shared with you.
Schedule With Me
I offer somatic informed therapeutic coaching, craniosacral therapy, Swedish massage, Thai bodywork, myofascial release, group workshops, and healing through art, play, and connecting to nature.
