7 Planets In Aries: Planet Pile Up, Hand Surgeries, Office Moves, and More Facilitation!

Bridging Ecosystems cohort at Headwaters Foundation

Song of the Week

Listen to this song as you read to help open you up. This song sums up this week. Surely someone will save me?

Updates!

It’s been a big week. I co-facilitated a retreat with Ayo with the Headwaters Foundation over the weekend, holding a somatics, healing justice, and creative art reservoiring space for their Bridging Ecosystems Cohort. It was a wonderful group. We made art, sang, connected, discussed healing justice, and engaged in somatic practices together. Thirteen years ago when I talked about healing justice most people would say, “what’s that”? Now most people I know have a sense of what it is, it’s moved it’s way through the fiber of our collective consciousness and become more a part of our everyday knowing.

Yet it can still feel hard to implement healing justice practices into our work. The systems are in fact set up to make it hard, not because it actually is hard. It actually is easy and the most natural thing in the world. Abundant cultures and lands who know how to share resources better, know this better. It’s easy because it’s the natural way things go when oppressive human systems move out of the way. I feel that part of our roles as “facilitators” in healing justice spaces is to help remind people of the possibilities of connectivity, the possibilities of having a body and being in it, honoring it, wherever you go without numbing out and giving in to the weaponization of our trauma against ourselves and the land. That is a thing worth fighting for. That is what the justice is about, and why the healing matters. Why heal, if there is no justice? What does justice look like, without healing? I come back to the healing in justice and the justice in healing every time. I repeat over and over again, it’s not about feeling better— though that can be a pleasant side effect, it’s about learning how to feel more. To experience more. This is our birthright— to have an ecosystem experience as a human experience rather than that of a homogenous mono-cropped field.

Anyways, I want to do more facilitation and group workshops, I love working with groups of humans. It can be tiring of course, as groups are microcosms of every human experience and there’s a lot of energy to hold there, and I can feel the ways I was socialized as a Asian woman/person to not take up space in these group spaces, but a deep part of me loves and needs to hold group sessions to feel like I have a sense of what the heartbeat of the world is. Then I feel more at ease in my own body.

Speaking of bodies, I want to update you a little bit about my own body. I had my emergency hand surgery on my left ring finger last week, and this will have some impact on my work. I am taking on more people for somatic experiencing (SE), craniosacral, consultations/facilitation gigs, ergonomic home evaluations, sensory evals, and art therapy, the things I don’t need a left ring finger for, and luckily want to offer more of anyways. For six weeks I won’t be give any deep tissue Swedish massage work. It will be a full three months until I get full strength back in my left ring finger, so getting back to Swedish massage will be somewhere between 6 weeks (end of May) to a few months (end of July). I’m going to experiment with Thai bodywork and see how that goes tomorrow. Stay tuned.

Geeze, another thing is that on Monday I had to move offices due to the construction at Sabathani, so I am now located on the 1st floor in the administrative offices at Sabathani, and I’ll be here for a few months until construction is completed in the old office. It’s mostly about reducing the sound with the geothermal installation in the building. I was made aware that there is a “seven planet pile up” in aries, “one of the trickiest weeks in 2026” according to Chani Nicholas. Hence, some of the intensity we’ve all been feeling. Between a fulfilling, but big work weekend, my hand surgery last week, and a very sudden office move, I will surrender and own that this week I have witnessed this aries fire. Chani asks in her video this week, “who benefits from your suffering?”

Take care of yourselves this week if you’ve been feeling that edginess too. Ask for help, let your friends tell you that you need help/don’t fight them on it, focus your sights on your long-term goals, hold your short-term goals with compassion, book yourself that state park cabin, campsite, or art night boo, you I’m positive deserve it.
